The Climbing Wall Association seeks service crew members for the 2024 CWA Summit. The 2024 CWA Summit will be held May 13-17, 2024 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Ore.

Deadline: February 14, 2024

The service crew is responsible for providing logistical and operational support to the CWA during the conference in various ways such as working the registration desk, supporting conference sessions, making classroom announcements, and assisting wherever needed. Selection will be based on skills and experience, membership status, and professional development considerations. 

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on skills and experience, membership status, and professional development considerations. Service crew members must be available to attend a virtual training in advance of the conference and an onsite training on Tuesday, May 14, 2023. Upon selection, crew members will be required to work full days during the conference.

Benefits & Restrictions

Service crew members will have the conference registration fee waived and will be allowed to attend pre-conference workshops as the schedule permits. 

Service crew benefits do not fund travel, lodging, pre-conference workshops, or other incidental expenses associated with attending the conference. Food will be provided during working hours for the Service Crew. Conference assignments are delegated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Monument Sports Group generously sponsors two types of scholarships to the 2024 CWA Summit to those who otherwise might not be able to attend the conference. The scholarships to be awarded are:

  • (3) Three individual conference scholarships
  • (3) Three individual pre-conference scholarships.


Selection Criteria

Scholarship awards are based on financial need, CWA membership status, professional development considerations, and potential to impact the climbing public’s safety. There will be a limit of one scholarship award per organization per year. 

Eligibility

Attendees who have already registered may not apply. No registration refunds will be provided to those who are awarded a scholarship. Scholarships do not fund travel, food, lodging, or other expenses associated with the conference. Scholarships cover either the conference registration fee or the pre-conference fee. You cannot be awarded both.  Attendees who have already been awarded a conference scholarship in the past are not eligible. Eligible applicants not selected will be provided a code to register at the Regular Registration rate.

How to Apply

The scholarship application deadline is February 16, 2024. Applicants who have been awarded a scholarship must accept the scholarship via e-mail within six (6) business days.
